Curriculum Information

Here you will find a copy of our long term plan and our termly curriculum newsletters. Our LTP may change slightly as we edit and adapt things throughout the year.

We are reading:

We read a huge variety of texts throughout the year. Some of them are just for pleasure, while we use others for literacy lessons or comprehension skills.

What have we been up to?

In November, Beech Class visited the National Railway museum in York to kick start our history topic on The Railways. We had a fantastic day and have round it really useful during our learning sessions, being able to link what we saw to what we are learning about.

In March, Beech Class had GoWild Outdoors come in to school and deliver a Stone Age Curriculum Day. The children had an amazing time. They explored some artifacts, similar to those that they would have used in the Neolithic times, tried to make fire, with 2 sticks and with a flint & steel, created handprint art, made clay pots, built shelters and even had a try at 'hunting'.
